ABOUT DISTRICT COURT

The Judgeship of Rohtas was carved out of Shahabad Judgeship in the year 1978 and was inaugurated on 23rd December, 1978 by the then Hon'ble the Chief Justice, Mr. K.B.N.Singh, Patna High Court, Patna. The Judgeship of Kaimur was carved out of Rohtas Judgeship and came into existence in the year 1999. Rohtas Judgeship having its head quarter at Sasaram and its sub divisional unit at Bikramganj, was inaugurated on 25.09.2004 and another sub divisional unit at Dehri-On-sone was inaugurated on 07.04.2012. Mr. Madan Mohan Prasad No.-1 was the 1st District & Sessions Judge of this Judgeship. Sri Anuj Kumar Jain is the present District & Sessions Judge-cum- Chairman, Legal Services Authority, Rohtas since 06-04-2024.

Important information regarding Rohtas Judgeship Creation:-

According to available data the Judgeship of Rohtas came into existence in the year 1978, six years later after the creation of Rohtas District. Initially the Judgeship of Rohtas embraced within its territorial jurisdiction the areas of present Judgeships of Bhojpur at Arrah, Buxar, and Kaimur at Bhabhua.
